My background: Jun’s contact improvisation teachers include Boulder-based teachers Alicia Grayson, Gretchen Spiro, and Steve Homsher as well as Nancy Stark Smith, Chris Aiken, Angie Hauser, Ray Chung, Jörg Hassmann, Scott Wells, Mirva Mäkinen, and Kirstie Simson. He has participated at the West Coast CI Jam (Berkeley, CA); ECITE (European CI Teachers Exchange) in Ibiza, Spain; the Freiburg CI Festival (Freiburg, Germany;) Skiing on Skin CI Festival (Raasepori, Finland); iDance Japan CI Festival (Kagoshima, Japan); Asia Improvisation Art Exchange (Seoul, South Korea); CI Ground Research (Earthdance, MA; California); the Moab Jam & Workshop (Moab, UT); and Seattle Festival of Dance Improvisation (Seattle, WA). Jun has also performed in New York, NY; San Francisco and Berkeley, CA; Boulder, CO; Kagoshima, Japan and Seoul/Udo, South Korea (iDance Festivals); Moab, UT; Seattle, WA (SFDI); Willard, WI (GLACIER); and Mazomanie, WI (Mazopalooza). He is a member of the Tumblebones contact improvisation collective in Boulder, CO. He has been actively studying and teaching the Japanese martial art of aikido for over 20 years. His other interests include the Feldenkrais Method of somatic education and Playback improvisational theatre.
